Tarrell Lockwood enters his third season at Duval, second as defensive coordinator after coaching linebackers during the Tigers 2013 playoff season. Ranked as one of the top team defenses in the state of Maryland, Duval has had great recent success. Under Lockwood, Duval has produced both all-met and all-conference players on a yearly basis and some of the states most highly recruited student athletes. He possesses a well-rounded coaching resume, having coached every offensive or defensive position, except offensive/defensive line. He coached numerous youth leagues throughout the Washington D.C. metro area and now on the high school level.
Prior to joining the Tigers staff, Tarrell Lockwood served as the defensive backs coach at nearby Parkdale High School for three years. A native of Landover, MD, Lockwood began his college football playing career at Pasadena City College in Pasadena, California before transferring to The University of Charleston in West Virginia.
“My season expectations are always to improve not only as better student athletes but as better young men. Football is one of many extracurricular activities that should be used to provide avenues and opportunities for young student athletes.”
