I have been a certified athletic trainer since 1977. Beginning at Sunnyside High School, Tucson, AZ as the athletic trainer as part of the graduate assistant program at the University of Arizona.
In 1977 I relocated to Delran High School, Delran, NJ, where I taught health & physical education & was the head athletic trainer. During this time I developed & taught a student trainers curriculum & program passed by the board of education for high school credit.
During the summer of 1979, I was contracted as a certified athletic trainer for the New Jersey Americans, professional soccer team, New Brunswick, NJ under Coach Eddie Firmani.
While working for IBM 1982-2003, I was contracted from 1985-1986 as a certified athletic trainer for Rutgers University’s varsity baseball & lacrosse teams. From 1993-1994 I was also volunteering an EMT, Emergency Medical Technician, for Howard County Fire & Rescue. However, in 1994 I was transferred to Raleigh, NC where I contracted part time as a certified athletic trainer for Leesville High School where I developed a student athletic trainers program.
In 1994-95, I transferred with IBM to back toMaryland and was also hired part time by MOST, Metro Orthopedics & Sports Therapy, Silver Spring, MD. During which I was contracted for metro area schools:

1999 – Archbishop Carroll High School, Washington DC
1998 – 1999 St. Andrews Episcopal School, Potomac, MD
From 2002 -2005 I became the full time Head Athletic trainer and Sports Medicine Director for Bowie State University, Bowie, MD. As the certified athletic trainer I was in charge of the sports medicine program for a NCAA Division II university with 5,000 plus students and 9 sports. Supervised a student trainers program and taught course PHED210 entitled: First Aid, Safety, CPR and the Care & Prevention of Athletic Injuries.
In 2005, I came to DuVal High School. I currently teach health & am contracted by PG County as a certified & licensed athletic trainer for the football & soccer seasons besides covering the athletics at DuVal. My future goals are to develop a successful sports medicine program and trainers room that could possibly be copied throughout the county.
