DuVal Tigers Loses Lead Early In Defeat
DuVal Tigers watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 12-2 loss to
Flowers on Tuesday. Flowers took the lead on a fielder’s choice in the first inning.
Flowers took an early lead in the first inning. Espinosa hit into a fielder’s choice, scoring two runs.
Flowers scored five runs in the second inning. Flowers’s big inning was driven by a error, a double by McGowan, a single by Robinson, and a single by A. Delaney.
McGowan earned the win for Flowers. He pitched four innings, surrendering one run, one hit, striking out three, and walking zero. Thompson recorded the last three outs to earn the save for Flowers. Aaron Hemmans took the loss for DuVal Tigers . He went, surrendering zero runs, one hit, and walking zero.
Ernesto Medina-Contreras started the game for DuVal Tigers . He tossed four and a third innings, giving up 12 runs, ten hits, and striking out two.
Justyn Bunkley led DuVal Tigers with one hit in two at bats.
Flowers had 11 hits in the game. Robinson and Delaney each collected multiple hits for Flowers. Robinson went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Flowers in hits. Flowers stole ten bases during the game as two players stole more than one. Robinson led the way with four. Flowers didn’t commit a single error in the field. Delaney had four chances in the field, the most on the team.
