The following student-athletes have earned the declaration of “Student – Athletes of The Season” for The Fall Sports Season through the nominations of the Fall Sports Coaching Staff.
Male Student Athletes of The Fall Sports Season
Roynelson Vasquez – Corollary Softball (partner)
Roy has been on the team since it began, he is one of only 2 returning partners. He has been a tremendous help in assisting the coaches in teaching the ins and outs of the sport to a team full of new players as well as assisting the athletes learn new positions and improve their batting. After pitching for the team for the last 2+ seasons he graciously gave up his position to an athlete who really wanted to try it, even working with him on technique, strike zone, etc. Roy is the epitome of a team player.
Entienne Agwaranyam – Football
Entienne is currently in his first year as a member of the football team. He has taking control of the position of a Varsity Kicker. Stepping up to the challenge, Entienne has never played football prior to this season nor has ever kicked before. Despite his lack of experience, he has become an important piece of the puzzle for the Varsity Football Team. In addition to his on the field success, he has received a 4.0 in the classroom. The coaching staff and tiger nation as a whole is very proud of this young man as he is able to handle so much pressure on the field and maintains perfection in the classroom.
Female Student Athletes of The Fall Sports Season
Tamia Tunstall – Corollary Softball (athlete)
Tamia is a second year athlete. She has always been the fastest player and best base runner on the team, able to get on base safely from the shortest of hits. This season she asked to try a new position- catcher. She has taken the position very seriously and enjoys putting on her gear every game.
Bria Turner – Volleyball
Bria is a 3-year Volleyball Player and also serves as Our captain. This year Bria has served as our setter, the “quarterback of volleyball”. She is very vocal on the court, helping her teammates to make necessary adjustments on offense and defense. Although ourseason hasn’t yielded many wins, she has made tremendous strides as a leader and a athlete. Not only is she an exceptional leader on the court but she maintains a 3.3 cumulative GPA, and serves as the president of the Student Government Association here at Duval.
